Covid-19

The emergence of covid-19 was first reported in Wuhan city of Chine in December, 2019. The virus is a mutant form of SARS (Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome) The virus is found to be highly contagious due to the presence of a spike protein that tends to bind specifically receptor sites present on lung tissue. The pandemic created an alarming situation and everything halted due to this deadly and contagious virus. There are some controversies regarding the emergence of virus, as some people assume that virus has been created by biological method by Chinese scientists with some unforeseen motives.  However, efforts are still on to completely eliminate the virus to let mankind take a breath of relief. Researchers have sequenced the whole genome of the virus, and found very unique Genes sequence causing the respiratory illness in human. Only 14% of the individuals have been reported with severe form of illness like respiratory failure, hypoxia. According to researches, virus first originated in animals like bats or any other animal and transferred to human. Not only that, as scientists are coming up with new ideas to combat virus by creating vaccines and medicines, virus is mutating with more rapid rate in order to survive. People are recommended to adopt hygienic and safety measures to fight with the danger and to get rid of the virus entirely . Virus needs multiplication to survive, so if we avoid physical contact with each other, that will reduce spread of virus.  The most reliable strategy to fight with the infection is minimizing the physical contact as much as possible.

Regarding diagnosis, virus can be diagnosed by using Polymerase Chain Reaction test, shortly termed as PCR. Most of us must be familiar with the term, as is being used most commonly nowadays. The symptoms of virus are similar to the pneumonia. Another interesting fact is that countries with a TB (tuberculosis) vaccine are not as much affected as countries that don't allow the use of TB vaccine.

Virus spreads by air droplets or even researchers found that virus can be transmitted through aerosol droplets. So, one should avoid the person with cough, flu or cold to eliminate the possibility of acquiring infection.

Most common symptoms of virus include cold, flu, fever, headache, but symptoms keep varying from individual to individual. These symptoms can be relieved by taking the antibiotic. However, people with weak immune system are more vulnerable to the virus.
